Cash flow
Understanding what's coming in, going out, and available to direct toward goals.
What we do
The plan comes first: cash flow, tax, retirement, and the decisions that matter most. Investment management exists to implement that plan, not the other way around.
Integrated financial planning
Understanding what's coming in, going out, and available to direct toward goals.
Planning decisions with tax consequences in view, within MHW's own competency.
Building toward, and eventually drawing from, accumulated assets.
Identifying where risk is uncovered or over-covered relative to the plan.
Funding strategy for education goals within the household's broader plan.
Options, RSUs, and concentrated positions considered as part of the whole plan.
Where business and personal finances interact, coordinated within MHW's planning scope.
Making sure planning decisions line up with estate documents prepared by qualified counsel.
Investment management
Accounts are constructed and monitored against the plan's own objectives, held at an independent qualified custodian, and adjusted as the plan changes. This description is not a philosophy statement, a return expectation, or a performance claim.
Decision support through transitions
A career change, a liquidity event, retirement, or a business transition each affect both the plan and the portfolio at the same time, not as two separate services.
Professional coordination
Handles tax return preparation and complex tax positions.
Drafts wills, trusts, and other legal estate documents.
Handles underwriting and policy placement.
Handles valuation, deal structure, and transaction execution.
What this does not mean
MHW does not prepare tax returns, draft legal documents, perform business valuations, or execute business transactions itself. These are coordinated with the qualified specialist who performs them.
Planning-only
For situations that call for planning without ongoing investment management. Scope, deliverables, and fees are covered on Fees & Fit.
See how it works day to day
Our approach describes the working relationship itself, not just what's covered.
